Romelu Lukaku has completed his move from Chelsea FC to Everton FC for a club record transfer fee of A?28million. The Belgium international has signed a five-year contract with the Toffees.
After months of speculations regarding his long-term career at Chelsea, Romelu Lukaku has finally completed his move to Everton for a club record transfer fee. The 21-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the Merseyside club.
Romelu Lukakuai??i??s future at Stamford Bridge came under a lot of speculations following the arrival of Diego Costa and Didier Drogba in this transfer window. The Belgium international has being monitored by a host of clubs in Europe, but recent reports suggest that Everton are close to signing Lukaku permanently.
The striker enjoyed a wonderful season on loan at Everton, amassing 15 goals and 6 assists in 29 starts. But despite managing to outperform every other striker the London club have in their squad, Lukaku faced an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge.
Jose Mourinho signed Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid, while Didier Drogba has re-signed on a one year contract this summer. These new arrivals meant Lukaku dropped further down the pecking order, and the 21-year-old was desperate to gain regular first team action.
A host of European clubs were monitoring Lukakuai??i??s situation at Stamford Bridge with Juventus, Wolfsburg and Real Madrid being linked with a move for him. The deal was made official hours later when Everton announced Lukakuai??i??s arrival for a club record transfer fee of A?28million, on a five-year contract.
Lukaku expressed his delight at having completed this move and is keen to start off on a new journey.

Roberto Martinez stressed on how hard the club has had to work to complete this new signing, and it is evident that Lukaku was the center piece of Evertonai??i??s transfer plans this summer.
