Although the imposing Ivorian has been utilized as an impact substitution, Didier Drogba has been forever etched into Chelsea’s history and folklore.
“This year, the key for me is to enjoy my football and to be with my team-mates and to win trophies,” Drogba told Chelsea TV.
After leaving the club in 2012, whilst leading Chelsea to a memorable Champions League win wherein Drogba himself scored the last minute equaliser and then converted the decisive penalty, he enjoyed stints in China and Turkey.
Turning 37 in March, Drogba has not disappointed in his 13 appearances for Chelsea this time around. The striker has already netted in three goals and scored the Chelsea’s goal against Manchester United, recently.

In set pieces, Drogba has also been known for his free kickAi??ability, known to strike the ball with power and pace, although the Ivorian has enjoyed high success rates with his heading abilities too.
If Drogba leaves at the end of this season then he would want to leave Chelsea on another high. Chelsea are already top dogs and have distances themselves from the rest of the pack in the Premier League and with Chelsea boasting one of the best Midfields in Europe, a Champions League win might look likely.
Chelsea are sitting comfortably in the drivers position with 29 points, the league leaders beat Liverpool 2-1 last time around and would hope to continue on with their winning way, come West Bromich Albion, after the International break.
Although Drogba has hinted at a retirement, the Ivorian could very well feature in the Major League Soccer of USA or another league which is still set to make its mark.
The newly established Indian Super League could also tempt Drogba, as Drogba’s striker partner at Chelsea Nicolas Anelka is already featuring for Mumbai City in the Super League.
