Chelsea FC manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that Romelu Lukakuai??i??s transfer to Everton has helped them in balancing the book and remain within Financial Fair Play.
After months of speculations Romelu Lukaku finally completed his move to Everton as Jose Mourinho failing to promise him regular first team action. The Chelsea manager has now revealed that part of the decision, to sell him, was made in order balance the books.
Lukaku joined Chelsea from Anderlecht in 2011 after being hailed as the ai???new Drogbaai??i??, and ironically his departure from the London club preceded by the return of the old Drogba to the club. The Belgium international failed to establish himself at Stamford Bridge in the three seasons he was at the club, despite producing some wonderful performances on loan to West Brom and Everton.
The 21-year-old outscored every Chelsea striker during his loan spell at Everton last season and returned to his club with hopes of finally breaking into the first team. Jose Mourinho insisted that Lukaku wanted to be the first-choice striker at the club, but he couldnai??i??t promise him that, specially after the arrival of Diego Costa this summer.
Lukaku was desperate for regular first team action and Everton were keen to sign him back after impressing Roberto Martinez with his performances last season.
