AC Milan are closing in on acquiring Roberto Soldado to fill the void left after Mario Balotelli’s departure to Liverpool
Spanish giants AC Milan are in the transfer market to acquire an appropriate replacement to outgoing striker Mario Balotelli. According to the Daily Mail Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado is on top of their priority list and with only few days left for the transfer window to close down, the Rosoneri will have to make a rapid move to acquire the striker.
After Balotelli’s departure to Liverpool, AC Milan are left with no quality striker to lead their attack and the Rosoneri are in a desperate search to get a world-class striker before the transfer window closes down on 1st September.
Soldado, who moved to Tottenham last season for a whopping 26 million pounds transfer fee, had a torrid first season with the club where he managed to score only 6 goals in the entire season. The Spaniard had arrived at Tottenham with a huge amount of expectations resting on his shoulders but he failed to deliver in the most miserable manner.
Tottenham’s new coach Mauricio Pottechino is also not very keen to include Soldado in their starting line-up. He was asked to sit on the bench in Tottenham’s first league game against West Ham, clearly indicating that the manager does not have any faith left in the striker.
The fact that Tottenham has spent 26 million pounds for acquiring the Spaniard will also be a key factor in determining the transfer amount for his move to AC Milan. After spending such a hefty amount to buy him, the Tottenham management will not want to sell the striker for any less than 20 million pounds.
AC Milan are going to get 16 million pounds from Balotelli’s transfer, and the Rosenerri will have to run things as quickly as possible in order to get a suitable replacement for Balotelli.
AC Milan were in talks with Porto FC to buy their striker Jackson Martinez Ai??but in an interview to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Porto boss Pinto da Costa made it clear that the striker is not going anywhere by saying Ai??ai???Jackson Martinez is unsalable: We will not sell the attackerai???
Besides Martinez, AC Milan have shown interest in buying Chelsea striker Fernando Torres and Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez.
