Sir Alex Ferguson bought Wilfred Zaha from Crystal Palce with very high expectations in January but the winger has found life at such big club extremely tough it seems. The Ivory Cost born striker has struggled badly to make his mark through his mediocre performances and current manager David Moyes does not consider him for his squad selection.
According to the reports, training staff at Old Trafford is of the opinion that the youngster is not mentally fit enough to succeed at the highest level. While as United prepare to make him available in the transfer market for temporary loan switch to get more experience, question marks over his mental strength are keeping clubs away from making an offer.
Zaha, the last ambitious signing of Sir Alex as manager, made his professional debut on 27th March 2010. He quickly progressed through the ranks at Palace and became a key member of the first team during the 2010-11 season. Zaha also had very successful 2011-12 season as he was also utilized as striker by the manager Dougie Freedman during the latter half. Wilfred Zaha was also voted as the best young player of Palace for two consecutive seasons. His promising displays continued during the early part of last season also which prompted a move from Manchester United in January. Sir Alex wasted no time in sending him back on loan to Palace as he wanted Zaha to continue his progress.
Of late, Coach David Moyes seems to have found his best starting XI for United and Zaha is unlikely to get any opportunities in his first team in the near future at least. Unfortunately for Zaha, United are short of options in the centre of the park but have abundance of talent his area of specialty. And therefore a loan move to other Premier League club is perhaps his only possible option bet if he wants to play regular football.
It is not clear yet whether a Premier League club is looking for his signature in January. As for now, it does seem that the winger may end up securing a loan move back to the Championship side, something that may not really help him build his confidence as it is a stage where he has already got plenty of experience with his previous club. Manchester United would also want him to join a Premiership club so that he can get better exposure.
