West Bromwich Albion have taken pole position in securing the signature of Manchester United cast-out Wilfried Zaha for the rest of the season according to latest reports.
Wilfried Zaha, who joined the Red Devils in the summer having signed for the reigning champions in January itself , has been on the fringes of David Moyes’ plans having to contain with just a single Capital One Cup appearance so far this season. There have been flying rumours about the winger being shunned out of the team due to an alleged affair with David Moyes’ daughter Lauren, but those have been dismissed by the player himself.
“I’ve never dated or even met David Moyes’s Daughter so that isn’t the reason for my absence in games,” – Ai??the 21-year-old Tweeted on Friday.
“I would like to stop all these false accusations .. I will play for Manchester United when my manager feels I’m ready.”
Earlier in the season, Moyes stated that the winger needed to really know what it takes to be a Barclays Premier League player –
“Wilf has not appeared. We have not felt we have had the opportunity.I want Wilf to get used to what happens here. The competition is hard.Ai??It is just impossible to get all these players a game at the one time. You can only ever play 11.Ai??It is important Wilf gets to see the level of the training here, the level of the players and the quality they have got. He is getting better which we are pleased about.”
The England U-21 international has been informed that he can leave the club for the rest of the season for more first team opportunities to aid his development and it is believed that Everton, Stoke and Fulham are also interested in taking the winger on loan. But according to the latest on the story, the Baggies have emerged as favourites to bag Zaha and the player himself is keen on the move given Steve Clarke’s ability to get the best out of his young talent – as portrayed by Romelu Lukaku’s fruitful loan spell last season. Crystal Palace are also among the contenders for the winger’s signature –

Zaha, capped twice by England joined United in January in a deal well worth 15 Million pounds but has Ai??barely been used by Moyes. The youngster is currently way down the pecking order at Old Trafford behind Antonio Valencia, Nani, Ashley Young, Shinji Kagawa and 18 year old Adnan Januzaj.
