Chelsea came into this game having dropped seven points on the road in the three league matches so far, but Jose Mourinhoai??i??s side started the match brightly and took an early lead in the game. Demba Ba, who got a rare start in the Premier League in this match, set up Oscar and the Brazilian finished beautifully putting Chelsea ahead. But despite that early goal and dominating possession, the Blues failed to double their lead in the first half and the game still remained in balance going into the break.
Norwich City came out with a lot of aggression and determination in the second half of the match and restricted Chelsea. They pressed hard as a team and hit Chelsea on the break. The crowd got behind them and Norwich were on the ascendency. Eventually they got the reward for that effort as Anthony Pilkington scored from close range after Wolfswinkel set him up with a wonderful header. At that moment it seemed as if Norwich might even go on an win this game, but Chelsea responded well to that pressure.
Jose Mourinho made some key substitutions and changed the system. The changes too effect and Chelsea piled on the pressure. Then in the 85th minute Eden Hazard put them on the lead after a wonderful counter attack from a Norwich corner, although Norwich keeper John Ruddy perhaps could have done better with his attempt to save it. Just one minute after this goal Willian scored from a wonderful curling shot with his left foot and doubled Chelsea lead. That goal settled the match and Chelsea grabbed their first win of their season. The final score line was perhaps a bit harsh on Norwich who gave a good account of themselves.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was delighted with the win, but refused take all the credits for the substitutions that changed the game. He was also pleased for Willian, who scored his first Premier League goal since joining the club in Ai??the summer.
