Arsenal and AC Milan will go head to head over the Valenciaai??i??s Adil Rami in the summer.
Adil Rami has been the backbone of the Valencia defence since joining them from Lille, back in 2011. Despite Valenciaai??i??s up and down season so far, Rami along with Soldado and Tino Costa have been their most consistent performer.
There has been a lot of speculations over Ramiai??i??s future at the club next season. Russian giants Anzhi along with AC Milan and Arsenal have been monitoring the player closely since last season. Reports from Spanish media suggested that Anzhi have already failed with a bid for the defender during the winter transfer window.
Rami has a ai??i?? 25 million release clause in his current contract which runs till 2015. But it is believed that Valencia might listen to offers above ai??i?? 12 millionAi??for the 27-year-old defender.
Both Arsenal and AC Milan are expected to have a busy summer in the transfer market and strengthening the defence is high on their agenda. The 27-year-old French international fits the bill perfectly as he would bring along a lot of experience of top flight and international football along with him.
Rami has recently dismissed all rumours and stated that he is happy at Valencia.
“Whatever the termination contract added to my actual contract is, I am very happy in Valencia, I always said it, and I am only thinking about doing the best for my team. What I care about has nothing to do with a clause or with another”. ai??i?? The Frenchman was quoted in press.
But the fact remains that Valencia, like most of the La Liga clubs, are facing grim financial problems. Next season, they might be forced to sell one or two their key players to balance their book.
