The Serbian defender is wanted by Juventus; United may buy back West Hamai??i??s Ravel Morrison.
Serie A giants Juventus want to buy Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic according to Football Italia. The 31 year old Serbai??i??s current contract comes to an end at the end of this season and United would want him to sign a new contract as soon as possible. Juventus are thought to be lining up a 9.5 million Euros bid for the centre back in January. United may consider this offer if Vidic is unwilling to extend his contract and United face the prospect of letting their captain go for free next summer. They would rather cash in on their captain in January should a decent bid come along.
David Moyes might be tempted to let the defender go if Juve bid, seeing as his best years are behind him. The defender has also been injury prone in the recent past and Moyes might want to get new blood in his defence. Sir Alex Ferguson signed Vidic in 2006 from Spartak Moscow and the Serb has helped United to five Premier League titles and one Champions League trophy, turning out 271 times for the Red Devils. Vidic is still regarded as one of the best defenders in the Premier League but may want to try out a fresh challenge outside England.
Meanwhile, West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce is worried Man United may prise young prodigy Ravel Morrison back from the London club after his impressive performances. Morrison, 20, left Old Trafford for Upton Park in January 2012 since he did not get first team opportunities under Sir Alex Ferguson. There were also talks of Ferguson not entertaining Morrisonai??i??s rebellious nature. However, all this might change if David Moyes wants to add to his attacking firepower at Old Trafford.
Allardyce is worried United might exercise a buy-out clause in Morrisonai??i??s contract. The Hammers boss is unaware of such a clause but suspects United might exercise it if there was one:
