Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has urged his club to sign his compatriot and Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic.
Pjanicai??i??s agent has even revealed that they have rejected a formal offer from Tottenham last year. Despite all the interest, Pjanic has always stated that he is happy at Roma. Recent reports also suggest that the Italian club are looking to extend his current contract which runs until 2015.
But Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has revealed in an interview that he has recommended Pjanic to Mancini and hopes that the English club will sign him next season. The City forward even claims that he will stay at the club if his compatriot joins him at the Etihad stadium.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Pjanic came to City, and I sincerely hope he does.
“If Mire came to City then I would certainly not want to leave the Etihad.
“I sincerely hope that Pjanic will join City. I have recommended Pjanic before to Manchester City ai??i?? they know all about him.
“On one occasion the manager Roberto Mancini asked me whether Pjanic was Bosnian. I said, ‘Of course, he’s Bosnian!'” ai??i?? The Manchester City striker said.
Despite his comments it seems highly unlikely that Dzeko will extend his stay at Manchester City. Reports suggest he might be on his way back to the Bundesliga. Pjanic though might still make it to the Etihad stadium next season, as City have certainly shown interest in him in recent times. But Roma is unlikely to sell the youngster at this point. It is a team which is entering a crucial rebuilding phase and one that is slowly concentrating on blooding youth into the team. Personally for Pjanic, a move to City might well stagnate his career ai??i?? he is certain to get far less first team action at Manchester.
