Manchester City returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Everton at the Etihad stadium.
Manchester City climbed up the table with a crucial victory over Everton as Alvaro Negredo and Sergio Aguero got on toAi??the score sheet. Everton came into this game as the only side yet to be beaten in the league and they started brightly as Romelu Lukaku gave them an early lead, scoring in the 16th minute of the match.
The first half was a fairly even affair as both Manchester City and Everton looked dangerous on break. City responded immediately after conceding the opening goal as new signing Alvaro Negredo scored his third league goal of the season. Yaya Toure set him up with a wonderful reverse pass. City gradually grew in confidence with that goal, but Sergio Aguero missed two clear cut chances to put them ahead. But the Argentine international eventually grabbed his goal at the stroke of half time as David Silva played him through.
Conceding a goal just before the half time seemed to affect Everton spirit as they put up a fairly disappointing performance in the second half of the match. City dominated possession and pushed Everton back. Eventually the third goal came for the home side. Seamus Coleman was adjudged to have fouled Pablo Zabaleta inside the box, although the replay showed that the Argentine international went down with minimal contact. Sergio Aguero stepped up take the penalty and although Tim Howard managed to save his effort, the ball came back off the post and went in off Howardai??i??s back. It was an unfortunate goal and penalty to concede, but City perhaps deserved it based on their dominance in the second half. The match ended 3-1, with it Evertonai??i??s unbeaten run came to an end.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez was unhappy with teamai??i??s performance, but was also left disappointed by how the big decisions didn’t go their way.

David Silva put up a fantastic display in this match and the Spaniard is slowly but surely returning to his best. He started on the left of the attack, but drifted inside and found space in between the Everton midfield and the defense.
