Liverpool FC are lining up a summer move for Manchester City and England defender Micah Richards.
But recent reports suggest that Liverpool are interested in signing the versatile defender in the summer. The Mersey side club is the latest addition to the long list of clubs who are currently monitoring his situation at Manchester City. Arsenal and PSG have shown their interest, while Juventus and Real Madrid have already made enquiries about his availability.
Richardsai??i?? current contract runs till June 2015, which means Manchester City will be in no hurry to sale him. But the English international will look to gain more first team action next season and at City he has failed to grab a permanent spot in the starting line-up of Manchester City till now. So Manciniai??i??s future plan for Richards will hold the key.
City are expected to undergo a very busy summer and a lot of squad players are expected to leave the Etihad stadium, making way for a lot of new arrivals. It looks highly unlikely that Richards will get regular first team action next season as well. But reports also suggest that Man City will slap a A?15m price tag on him ward off potential suitors.
Liverpool are in the market for a defender as they will have to deal with the retirement of Jamie Carragher. There are also doubts about the future of Sebastian Coates at the club, while Daniel Agger has been linked with a move abroad as well. Brendan Rodgers is also interested in signing Swansea captain Ashley Williams. But Richards will be a very good recruit if Liverpool can match Cityai??i??s asking price and manage to keep him fit. The Englishman can play both as a right back and as a central defender and this versatility makes him a great asset. Moreover for Richards, he is more likely to get first team action at Liverpool than at Manchester City.
