West Ham United chairman David Gold has revealed that striker Andy Carroll has passed his medical at the club.
The 24-year-old has been in the news recently, regarding his uncertain future at Liverpool. It was clear that Brendan Rodgers didnai??i??t consider Carroll to be a part of his future plans at the club as the English international was loaned out to West Ham at the start of last season. But recent reports suggested that Carroll was willing to return to Anfield next season and fight for his place in the squad.
The former Newcastle United striker performed admirable well in the second half of the season and West Ham United were keen to sign him permanently. After prolonged negotiation, both the clubs have finally agreed on a deal, which will see Carroll sign a six-year deal with his new club. The transfer fee involved in this deal is believed to be A?15 million, nearly half of what Liverpool paid to Newcastle United back in 2011. But it will clear up the wage bill and will also provide more fund for Brendan Rodgers to strengthen his squad with this summer.

This move will also provide Andy Carroll an opportunity to make a fresh start in his career. He is perfectly suited to West Hamai??i??s style of play under manager Sam Allardyce, which means he will get regular first team action and hence improve his chances of being picked for the England national team as well. Carroll is set to become West Hamai??i??s third signing this summer, after landing Adrian and Razvan Rat.
