66. Uga Okpara signs one year extension with East Bengal
East Bengal central defender Uga Okpara had a good campaign with the meanest defence in I-League. Negotiations for a contract extension was running for a while now and finally Kolkata giants has secured Nigerian defender’s services for one more year. Even amidst the chaos created by Chit fund scams, East Bengal has done well to hold on to their best players. Securing Okpara, after agreeing terms with Chidi Edeh is surely going to boost the Red and Gold supporters across the continent.

Kerala born defender Wahid Sali was one of the stellar performers for ONGC in I-League 12/13 season and it was rumoured to believe that there were many clubs chasing his signature including Mohammedans, Mohun Bagan and Churchill Brothers. Mohun Bagan was in the driving seat to secure the attacking right back, who is known for his well timed overlapping runs and crosses into the box. Wahid possess good defensive sense and the pace to cover the entire flank which will be a good addition to the Mariners. Churchill Brothers are also hopeful of securing the deal and the defender is becoming a hot property in the transfer window day by day.
