The Chelsea FC boss is still keen on adding the services of the Manchester United star to his already top-heavy squad.
Jose Mourinho is still said to be “very interested” in bringing Wayne Rooney to Stamford Bridge according to latest reports. The Blues supremo is a keen admirer of the forward and has already made a series of bids over the summer in his attempt to bring the striker to West London, only to be rebuffed time and again by a resolute David Moyes who sees Rooney as an indispensable part of the first team at Old Trafford.
The Manchester United star is out of contract in 2015 and the player’s entourage have reportedly put contract talks on hold amid growing unrest at the club ,paving the way for Roman Abrahamovic to take control of the situation. Rooney has been in tremendous form for the Red Devils this season and seems to be enjoying life in Manchester once again after his bitter fall-out with the now retired Sir Alex Ferguson who had, on the last day of the 2012-2013 season stated that Wayne Rooney had asked for a transfer away from the club.
In a rather ordinary season for the reigning champions of England, the #10 has been in tremendous shape and form going into the half-way point of the season, scoring 10 and assisting another 8 in 17 appearances so far. Talking about his delight on working under new management after the Real Sociedad game in October, Rooney stated –
“”The new coaching staff have come in and it’s really a new lease of life,” Rooney said after the 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad in the Champions League. Elsewhere, former Red Mark Bosnich feels that the striker is a priceless asset for the club and Moyes & Co cannot afford to lose their star player –
