Chelsea And Liverpool Are Interested In Signing Highly Rated Non-League Striker

Chelsea FC have apparently joined the race to sign 18-year-old non-league striker Daniel Carr, who has completed his trial at Liverpool FC.

Daniel Carr has turned a lot of heads this season with his performances for Ryman South Division One outfit Dulwich Hamlet. Carr has scored 23 goals in 23 games for the non-league club, which is brilliant considering the fact that Carr started out his career as a winger and has only recently being played in in the role of a striker. Interestingly Carr started his career at Reading, but was eventually released from the Premier League club.

The 18-year-old, who currently plies his trade seven leagues below the EPL, has taken Dulwich Hamlet on the verge of promotion. The non-league club has however received enquiries from 14 different clubs regarding the young striker this season. One of them was Liverpool and the Merseyside club had invited Carr for a trial a few days back. The youngster has returned to his club yesterday after the completion of his trial period and the club is now waiting on Liverpoolai??i??s response.

ai???Danny going to Liverpool may sound a bit out there, but last year we had Michael Chambers who went to Manchester United on a trial.

ai???Putting it in context, Dannyai??i??s an 18-year-old who has already been in that professional environment. And heai??i??ll be training with the U18s age group ai??i?? itai??i??s not as if heai??i??ll be training with Luis Saurez.

ai???Danny has a self-belief and he takes the interest in his stride. It is not arrogance but does think he can play and he likes a challenge.

But the manager also stated that the youngster is an important part of the squad and wonai??i??t be allowed to leave until the end of the season as they aim to achieve promotion.

But Liverpool might have to act quickly as recent reports suggest that Chelsea have entered the race for his signature and are looking to hijack Liverpoolai??i??s move. The London club has invited him to train with their youth team and have started their negotiations with the non-league club.

Either way, it seems like Daniel Carr will be seen in the Premier League next season.
