Arsenal FC are reportedly eyeing a move for Aston Villa youngster Dan Crowley, who has been dubbed as the new Jack Wilshere by English media.
The 15-year-old midfielder has caught the attention of Arsenalai??i??s scouts with his performances for the Aston Villa U-18 squad. The Englishman, who made his debut for the English U-16 squad last year, has already been promoted to the England U-17 squad and has proved his talent byAi??wonderful performances against Northern Ireland and Portugal most recently.
Crowley, who was also a part of the NextGen squad for Aston Villa, is known for his flair and close ball control. His short stature and style of play has drawn comparison with Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere. Although he is yet to complete is schooling, the 15-year-old is now subject of big interest from Arsenal, who are looking to snatch him away from under the nose Aston Villa in return of a small compensation fee.
Aston Villa, who have one the best records in finding and nurturing young English talents, is perhaps where Crowley will have to best opportunity to develop as a footballer, especially considering how the Aston Villa first team is filled with youngsters. Also at this point, Crowley will find it hard to break through the Arsenal ranks, given the team is expected to invest on experienced players in the summer. In most cases, 15 is too young an age to make a such a big and possibly career changing decision.
