Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is confident that his team will bounce back against Schalke from their shock defeat at the hands of Norwich last weekend.

Arsenal suffered from their second league defeat of the season at Carrow road on Saturday as Grant Holt scored the winner for Norwich. Arsenal slipped down to the ninth place in the league after the loss and are currently 10 points behind league leaders Chelsea. But Arsene Wenger is confident that his team can get over the disappointment and put up a good show against Schalke in the Champions League.
Wenger conceded that the Gunners were not ai???efficientai??i?? enough against the Canaries but insisted that his side remains ai???ambitiousai??i?? about their chances in the league and Europe this season.
“We have got over it and we will focus on our next game, that is the only way to deal with it, to put the disappointment behind us and focus on Schalke.
“As a team, we were not as efficient as we are used to. It can happen in the season. It is just of course at a very bad moment for us. I expect us to respond in a strong way because this team is very ambitious and wants to do very well.
“We have a good opportunity, we play at home against Schalke and since we know that we won in Montpellier, our qualifying will depend on how well we do at home.” ai??i?? Wenger was quoted in press.
But the Arsenal manager remains cautious and has spoken highly of the attack that the German club possesses. Arsenal have been rumoured to have big interest in Schalkeai??i??s Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and this would be a good opportunity for Wenger to watch over the Dutch international closely.
“They [Schalke] are a solid side with good organisation. Up front of course they have [Klaas-Jan] Huntelaar, [Jefferson] Farfan, that we know are well, [Ibrahim] Afellay and [Julian] Draxler. They are dangerous and play a lot on counter-attacks.ai??? ai??i?? Wenger added.
The last time these two sides met in the Champions League was back in 2001 when Arsenal and Schalke were drawn together in the same group (Group C). The Gunners defeated Schalke at home, but the suffered from a 3-1 loss away at Germany.
