Bengal, on four points will face off against Meghalaya, on six points, on 22nd January to decide winners of this group. In other matches Tamil Nadu defeated Chandigarh 2-1 while Jharkhand thumped Madhya Pradesh 7-0. Meanwhile, local football officials are making more effort in order to eradicate the mismanagement that plagued the first round matches.
Korean club Hallelujah FC began their India tour with a 5-0 victory over Mumbai Customs in a warm-up match in Mumbai. They will take on Archbishop’s Goa XI at Tilak Maidan, Vasco on Sunday. Legendary players like Ruud Gullit, Carlos Valderrama and Cristian Karembu will take part in an exhibition match Gangtok on Sunday. The match will be held in Paljor Stadium. Superstars XI is reported to include the following players: Ruud Gullit, Regi Blinker and Marcel Oerlemans (Holland), Carlos Valderrama (Columbia), Christian Karembu (France), Ali Daei (Iran), Ronals Kopp (Germany) and Jimmy Silvestor (Venezeula). Indian team will include the likes of Baichung Bhutia and Shyam Thapa.
