The side from Kochi faces the Pailan Arrows challenge in their own backyard today in order to jump out of the dreaded relegation zone. As the season draws to a closure, every point is like gold dust for the lads from Kerala. Biswajit Bhattacharyaai??i??s side is currently slotted at twelfth place in the table with seventeen points. With three matches to go, including a tricky away game in Goa against Salgaocar and then, which could be cited as relegation decider at home against Mumbai FC on the last day, Chirag United would like to clinch all three points against Pailan today. The return of star striker Anil Kumar would have certainly boosted the squad up for the big game, as he is set to start the game along side in form David Sunday, who scored a wonderful hattrick against East Bengal in the last match. Vineeth CK could occupy the hole behind these two strikers to add teeth to their attack and Captain Charles Dzsiah would be leading from the back.

Rob Baan mentored side will travel to Kochi today to lock horns against Chirag United Kerala, who are certainly down, but not out. The Pailan side would be vary of the recent endeavors of their opponents and would be looking at their defensive line up to take a due note of that. Arrows have had a really poor season by their standards and have struggled in front of the goal. The AIFF backed side is still looking for that elusive win in the league, and are placed at the thirteenth place in the league with meager ten points. Arrows have managed to draw two of their last three matches and would be looking to build on gritty performance against Churchill Brothers in the last round. Any sort of points from this game could really prove to be vital in sinking the Kerala Ship come end of the season.
