Inter To Land Villa-Boas?
Andres Villas-Boas who a Europa League-League-Cup treble in his first season at Porto is being linked with vacant coaching position in Inter. Inter Sporting Director Marco Branca is holding talks with Porto officials regarding this matter. Inter are reportedly paying 11 million Euros to match Villas-Boas’ buy-out clause.
THT Verdict: Villas-Boas has little experience managing on his own at a top club. However, his tactical astuteness is already evident. Inter will carry out one of the biggest transfer coups of the summer if they do manage to sign Villas-Boas.
Liverpool Eye Celtic Midfielder
Latest reports suggest that Liverpool FC have identified Korean starlet Ki Sung-Yeung as another potential target in case a deal for Charlie Adam doesn’t materialize.
THT Verdict: Sung-Yeung has achieved a lot at a young age of 22. Having made over 50 appearances for the national side and an equal number of games for Celtic. Touted by many as the Steven Gerrard of the east, the player sure does have a lot to offer and would prove to be an equally able target as Charlie Adam. As the race for Adam hots up, it is evident that Liverpool will be forced to look at alternatives and a move for the Korean star is definitely a possibility.
Roma Closing In On Bojan
The capital club, that is deemed to spend this summer with effect to the hefty American takeover, are believed to have closed in on La Masia’s sensational talent Bojan Krkic.
THT Verdict: A brilliant move. Bojan is young, dynamic and can play into multiple roles. This effectively means Roma are pretty keen on selling Montenegrin star Mirko Vucinic who has been associated with clubs in England and Italy. Bojan’s introduction may reduce the number of games for Borrielo, as the Spaniard is extremely effective on wings and may be deployed alongside Totti playing in the centre. Luis Enrique has closely followed Bojan in his Barcelona days and he may actually translate his potential into numbers following a move in Italy.
Chelsea Again Linked to Alexis Sanchez
Roman Abramovich has underlined his intention to go head-to-head with the two Manchester clubs in the summer transfer market by offering €35 million (Dh185.5m) for the Udinese forward Alexis Sanchez.
THT Verdict: Highly unlikely. The fact that there’s no manager yet at Chelsea, coupled with clear absence of creativity in the midfield and on the wings, has prompted the media to go in an overdrive. Each and every talented player is being linked to The Blues. The Modric bid is for real, so are the negotiations with the two Belgian clubs for De Bruyne and Lukaku; ergo, it’s unlikely that the club would make any other move before finalizing on the other deals. Also, Sanchez is a Barcelona target, and we all know what happens when that’s the case.
