VIVA KERALA
v
DEMPO SC
Jawahar Municipal Stadium, Kannur
3rd Feb 2011 – 4:00 PM IST
1′ : Match kicks off. Viva Kerala are looking down the barrel in I-League, it will be very difficult for them the garner anything from this match, going by recent form. However, Dempo’s form has been pretty patchy too.
5′ : Dempo with an early chance ! Ranty Martins fails to capitalize. Still 0-0.
7′ : Pradeep !! He tried to score from half-line ala David Beckham. Dempo ‘keeper had no problem whatsoever to deal with it.
15′ : Play bogged down in the middle of park. Both teams are trying to keep possession and settle quickly.
18′ : Bello Razaq is a one man army in Viva defence. He has already made three timely interceptions.
25′ : Murugappan !! First positive chance for the home team but Murugappan fails to keep compsure and shoots it over the bar.
HT : Viva Kerala 0-0 Dempo :: It has been a pretty exciting encounter in Kannur. Viva are playing one of their better matches of this season – matching Dempo blow by blow. :

CHURCHILL BROTHERS
Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata
5th Feb 2011 – 1:45 PM IST
Teams:
Chirag United: Somnath, Arnab, Sukhen, Chika, Bapi, Lalkamal, Gouranga, Denson, Junior, Joshimar, Jerry.
Churchil Brothers: Arindam, Gourmangi, Rowilson, Denzil, Robert, Leeny, Binish, Steven, Amaury, Kayne, Boima.1′: Match kicks off. Churchill Brothers drew their last match against East Bengal while Chirag thumped ONGC 4-2. Odafa isnt starting but Chirag has their full strength squad.
13′: GOOOAAALLL !!! Churchill Brothers take the lead. Dias – Vincent combo in action again.. these two have developed a wonderful understanding, Kayne Vincent is the scorer.
18′: GOOOAAALLL !!! Chirag make it 1-1 !! In-Forma Junior snatches an equaliser !! Denson Devadas must be given some credit for setting him up with a wonderful through-ball.
24′: GOOOAAALLL !!! Churchill score their 2nd goal. They regain the lead through Steven Dias.
30′: Chirag 1-2 Churchill Brothers Perhaps the best first 30 minutes in I-League 2010-11. Some wonderful end to end football from both teams.
34′: Joshimar !!! He was one on one with Churchill ‘keeper but he skied his effort. He missed a golden chance to restore parity.
39: Vincent !!Good effort from Vincent but Somnath was equal to the task making a sharp save.
41′: First change of the match for Chirag. Tulunga comes IN, Jerry goes OUT.
HT: It’s half time then. An exciting first half comes to an end with Churchill leading by 2-1. Join us back for the second half updates, which promises to be a cracker of a contest.
46′: The second half gets underway.
50′: Churchill again on the attack. Steven Dias with a teasing cross from the right flank but Lenny could not keep the ball down and it flies over Chirag cross-piece.
51′: GOOOAAALLLL!!! Churchill doubles their lead. Chirag goalie Somnath is to be blamed for this goal. He failed to grip the ball properly and it rebounds to Boima, who makes no mistake to put the ball in the back of the net.
54′: Free kick for Chirag and Lalkamal unleashes a decent delivery towards Denson, but his shot missed the target and went over.
56′: Still Chirag is trailing by 1-3, but they are seeming high percentage of ball possession in last 5 minutes or so. I can see a goal coming from somewhere.
59′: GOOOAAALLLLL!!! Chirag pulls another one back. It’s 2-3 now. Just as I told you that I could see a goal coming from Chirag, Tulunga scores from a beautiful cross by Gouranga.
65′: GOOOAAALLLLL!!! What a match it has been. Perhaps the best match of the season so far. Chirag staged an extraordinary fight back here and it’s 3-3 now. Denzil Franco handed the ball inside the box and the referee did not hesitate to award a penalty in favour of Chirag. Elijah Junior coolly slotted home the resulting spot kick.
68′: GOOOAAALLLL!!! Oh my God! What’s this happening here at the YBK. Churchill takes the lead again. Now it’s 3-4. Mohd. Rafi with a teasing through ball and Amuri scores with great composure.
73′: Churchill is leading by 4-3. Just over 15 minutes to go for the final whistle.
76′: Change for Chirag. Mohd. Rafiq IN, Gouranga OUT.
80′: GOOOAAALLLL!!! Perhaps it’s all over for Chirag now. Churchill scores their 5th of the match. Agaian Rafi-Amuri combo worked beautifully for Churchill. Amuri scores a memorable brace today.
84′: Just over 5 minutes to go for the long whistle. Can Chirag make another comeback? The way they have fought so far in the match, Chirag does not deserve to lose the match. A draw would be more justified result. Dias taken OFF, Charan Rai replaces him.
87′: It looks as if Chirag players have given up the chase. 3 minutes of regulation time remaining and I guess there will be close to 5 minutes of injury time.
90′: As I had mentioned previously, the referee indeed adds 5 minutes of injury time.
FT: Chirag 3-5 Churchill :: What an exciting contest it has been. Absolutely thrilling. In the end, Churchill had the last laugh as they defended resolutely for the last 15 minutes to conjure up a memorable 5-3 win. Churchill keeps the pressure on second placed Salgaocar by clinching full three points here. With 26 points from 13 games, they are now only 2 points behind Salgaocar and 4 points adrift of table topper East Bengal, who ofcourse have a match in their hand. Chirag remains on the 7th spot with 18 points.

40′: Only 5 minutes to go for the lemon break, but the dead-lock is yet to be broken.

90′: The score-card at the end of regulation time remains 1-1. The referee added 3 minutes of injury time.
FT: Mumbai FC 1-1 JCT FC. The referee blows the final whistle. It ends in a 1-1 stalemate. Mumbai FC consolidates their 5th spot in the standings one point behind Dempo. JCT finds them in the 8th place with 13 points from as many matches.
