After making a dismal start to the campaign, A.C. Milan would look forward to revive their fortune when they meet their transfer season ally Genoa at San Siro on Saturday. The rossoblu have not only been responsible for providing the maximum reinforcements for the rossoneri, but have also helped them in getting  rid of their surplus baggage by sigining in Kakhaber Kaladze. So far in the season, it has been a downhill ride for both the clubs after tasting victories in their respective season openers.
The Milanese club would be looking for some more favours from Genoa on Saturday as they have had a pretty average start to their campaign so far.  Both the teams head into matchday five after mustering up only a single point each from the mid week fixtures. Genoa were single handedly denied three points by the Fiorentina shot stopper Sebastian Frey, whereas Allegri’s dependency on old war horses for creativity in the mid field not only left his strikers stranded but also made Milan vunerable at the back for counter attacks whch finally resulted in them sharing points against Lazio.

Time to bench him coach

Just four matchdays into the season and Milan’s weakness in conceding goals on quick counter attacks has turned out to be an open secret.  Speaking to the media about his team’s chances against Milan, Genoa’s defender Ranocchia said “We’ll have to be united, defend well and create scoring opportuniies for ourself after they lose possession”. This has cost Milan valuable points already and fixing the same before this weekend will be the top priority for Allegri. “They have stars we can stop only with great team effort. If we play like we did in our last match, we’ll have a chance” said Ranocchia.
Inspite of the fact that the Milan team has failed to gel together as a cohesive unit yet, they will be the favourites for  Saturday’s encounter since they will be playing in front of their vocal home crowd. Milan have already slipped five points behind arch rivals and table toppers Inter and can’t afford another slip up if they want to stop the Nerazzurri from an unprecidented sixth successive title.
Its high time Allegri gives more playing time to Robinho and benches Seedorf who has been the biggest disappointment for them in the midfield. The veteran dutchman has constantly lost possession in the middle of the field and has been unimpressive as far as his shooting skills are concerned. Pato and Ambrosini will remain unavailable for the rossoneri this week as well and Genoa will be without the services of their injured strikers Mattia Presto and Bosko Jankovic.
After fifteen years Genoa fans will be able to enter the San Siro as both the clubs decided to reopen their away sections this year. Away fans have been banned from both the fixtures after the 1995 incident of stabbing of a Genoa fan Vincenzo Spagnolo by a Milan supporter.

TheHardTackle’s Blast From the Past:

TheHardTackle’s player to watch out for:
Kevin Prince Boateng (Milan)

It has been a roller coaster of a ride for this Black Stars midfielder after he made a switch from Portsmouth to Genoa only to be further loaned to Milan. He has been the only positive player in Milan midfield and comes across as a hard working and a hard tackling player. The 23 year old has gelled well with Ibrahimovic while going forward and at the same time has never hesitated to fall back at the time of counters; unlike few of his collegues. The spark that he adds to the ageing midfeild of Milan is something substantial. If a player deserves to make it to the starting eleven of this Milan side after winning just 4 caps, then he has to be special.
KPB: Breath of fresh air

TheHardTackle’s Prediction:

AC Milan  1-0  Genoa
