Real Madrid are interested in signing Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo and striker Erling Haaland in the near future.
According to a report by Spanish publication AS, Real Madrid are keeping tabs on Manchester City duo of Joao Cancelo and Erling Haaland. And Los Blancos could make a move in the upcoming transfer windows.
Cancelo has firmly established himself as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League, and there is no doubt that he would be a superb acquisition for Real Madrid. The Portuguese international can operate on either side of the defence, and his versatility will be an added bonus for Carlo Ancelotti.
The Italian tactician knows all about Cancelo, having watched him closely during his time in the Premier League. Apparently, Real Madrid have been admirers of the Portuguese defender for quite some time. Cancelo was an impressive player during his time at Valencia as well, so he has plenty of experience in La Liga.
Real Madrid could definitely use a quality right back after the regression of Dani Carvajal, and Cancelo seems like an ideal option for them. The report claims that the Manchester City defender could be available for a fee of around €40-€50 million during the 2023 summer transfer window, and Real Madrid plan to make their move for him then.
The Portuguese defender is currently being used as a left-back at Manchester City, but he will be able to operate in his natural role at Real Madrid. Furthermore, the opportunity to play for the Spanish giants can be quite tempting because of their illustrious history and their recent success on the pitch.
Meanwhile, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has been linked with the Spanish giants as well. Real Madrid wanted to sign Haaland before he joined Manchester City, but the Norwegian international was not keen on competing for a starting berth with Karim Benzema and therefore opted to move to the Premier League instead.
Apparently, Real Madrid are looking to make a move for Haaland in the summer of 2024, and they believe that he dreams of playing at the Santiago Bernabeu one day. Currently, Karim Benzema is at the peak of his powers, and Los Blancos believe that the Frenchman is still good enough to lead the line for a couple of seasons. In 2024, Haaland will be ready to take over as the natural successor.
The Norwegian striker moved to Manchester City during the summer transfer window, and he has made a breathtaking start to life in the Premier League. Haaland has managed to score 14 goals in ten appearances for his new club, and there is no doubt that he is destined to be a superstar in the future.
