Serie A giants Juventus are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio in a Bosman move next summer.
According to a report by Italian publication Gazzetta Dello Sport, Marco Asensio is the subject of interest from Juventus over a possible move in the 2023 summer transfer window. The Spanish attacker has entered the final year of his contract with Real Madrid and might depart from the Santiago Bernabeu as a free agent.
Marco Asensio is staring at an uncertain future at Real Madrid as he has entered the final year of his contract. His situation has also prompted Carlo Ancelotti to use him sparingly in the early days of the 2022/23 season, with the Spaniard managing only 47 minutes of game-time across four appearances thus far.
The 26-year-old has still made an impression in the bare minimum game-time, finding the back of the net for the 50th time in a Real Madrid shirt against RB Leipzig last week. But with Asensio entering the final year of his contract, several clubs are looking at him as a cost-effective solution heading into the 2023 summer transfer window, Juventus being one of his prospective suitors.
The Serie A giants bolstered their wide-attacking options this past summer by signing Angel Di Maria and Filip Kostic. But Di Maria has only signed a one-year contract and will likely leave Juventus as a free agent next summer, possibly to return to Argentina for the final phase of his career.
Juventus will thus need to invest in a wide attacker in the 2023 summer transfer window, with Asensio emerging as a viable target. The Real Madrid attacker’s contract situation further makes him an appealing option for the Serie A giants, considering their financial issues.
Apart from Asensio, several other attackers have also emerged on Juventus’s radar over a possible move sometime in 2023, including Christian Pulisic. As for pursuing the Real Madrid winger, the Serie A behemoths can approach him for a pre-contract agreement upon the turn of the year if he has not committed his future to Los Blancos.
Meanwhile, Asensio has no shortage of suitors either, with recent reports linking him with Real Madrid’s bitter rival Barcelona. The player has no qualms about leaving Real Madrid as a free agent either, thus boosting Juventus’s chances of snapping him in a Bosman move if they pursue him seriously.
