Juventus are ready to offer a bumper deal to Arsenal in the hopes of signing Gabriel Magalhaes.
According to Calciomercatoweb, Juventus have hatched a plan to sign Gabriel Magalhaes this summer. The Arsenal centre-back has emerged as one of the top defensive targets for Massimiliano Allegri, as he looks to shore up his options at the back, amid the uncertain future of Matthijs de Ligt.
The highly-rated Dutchman has been linked with a move away from Turin this summer. He has no shortage of suitors either, with Chelsea and Bayern Munich interested, while Manchester City are reportedly weighing up an offer of around €90 million.
With de Ligt’s sale emerging as a possibility, Juventus have stepped up their pursuit of a new centre-back. They have targeted Napoli superstar Kalidou Koulibaly, but the Senegalese international is currently on the verge of joining Chelsea, whereas the other top target in Bremer has been booked by Inter Milan.
It has compelled Juventus to go after Gabriel Magalhaes. The Brazilian international has been the strong figure in Arsenal’s defensive line over the past 12 months. His performances at the back, coupled with his formidable defensive partnership alongside Ben White played a key role behind Arsenal’s improved season last term.
Gabriel is expected to become even more important for Mikel Arteta ahead of the new season. The Brazilian has a contract at Emirates that does not expire until 2025, meaning the acquisition of the former LOSC Lille starlet is going to be difficult for Juventus.
However, Juventus have hatched a brilliant plan to sign the Brazilian. They are weighing up a fresh offer of around €30 million, which will be paid upfront. But the Bianconeri are also willing to include two players in the deal, in an attempt to woo Arsenal.
One of the players is Adrien Rabiot. The Frenchman has appeared keen on leaving Turin and has been linked with a move to Arsenal in the past. Juventus are looking to make full advantage of their past interest by offering the midfielder in the €30 million deal.
In addition, Juventus are open to including another midfield asset in the form of Arthur Melo. However, the Brazilian is rated much higher by the Italian giants and as such, they are only willing to sanction a loan deal for the former Barcelona starlet.
It essentially means Juventus are ready to offer €30 million and Rabiot, along with Arthur on a year-long loan in an attempt to sign Gabriel this summer. It could be quite an appealing offer for Mikel Arteta, who is desperate for reinforcements in the middle of the park. But whether or not it will be enough to woo the Spaniard remains to be seen.
