Andreas Pereira has left Manchester United to join newly-promoted Premier League side Fulham on a permanent transfer.
As confirmed by the club’s official website, Brazilian midfielder Andreas Pereira has bid goodbye to Manchester United, securing a permanent transfer to Premier League rivals Fulham.
Pereira had been with Manchester United for a decade, having arrived from the PSV Eindhoven academy. Having spent a couple of years within the club’s youth setup, the attacking midfielder made his senior debut in 2014, at the age of 18 years under then-manager Louis van Gaal.
Having failed to cement a place in the side, Pereira spent a couple of seasons out on loan in Spain, having stints with Granada and Valencia. He enjoyed a run in the side at Old Trafford when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was in charge of the side but failed to make the most of his chances. The Brazilian international was loaned out to Lazio for the 2020/21 campaign before leaving for Flamengo last summer.
Pereira fared well in Flamengo, who had an opportunity to make his signing permanent. However, the move fell through despite the 26-year-old expressing his desire to continue at the Brazilian outfit. Back at Manchester United, he had no place in new manager Erik ten Hag’s plans for the upcoming campaign.

And newly-promoted Fulham presented themselves as a potential destination for Pereira. The Cottagers are back in the Premier League after winning the EFL Championship title last season and have been looking to add new players to the squad to ensure that they do not end up getting relegated back to the second division.
Having lost Fabio Carvalho to Liverpool, manager Marco Silva was on the lookout for a new attacking midfielder and has settled in on Pereira as his preferred option, with the transfer now being completed. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the Cottagers will pay a transfer fee of £10 million, plus £3 million in add-ons to Manchester United for the 26-year-old.
Pereira has signed a four-year deal with Fulham, which runs until 2026, with the Londoners holding an option of extending it by another 12 months. “I’m very happy to be here and I can’t wait to start the season with Fulham. I want to help Fulham as much as I can to be where they belong. Marco Silva was very important for this. I spoke a lot with him, and he was a key factor in me being here,” he said after signing.
Pereira leaves Manchester United after making 75 appearances for the club, in which he scored five goals and assisted four more.
