Marco Asensio is reportedly in contact with Newcastle United, with Arsenal, Manchester United and AC Milan also keen on signing the Real Madrid forward.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Marco Asensio has another admirer in the Premier League in Newcastle United. The Magpies have established contact with the Real Madrid forward, with the Spaniard also a target for Arsenal, Manchester United and AC Milan.
Marco Asensio was one of the best performers for Real Madrid in the 2021/22 season, finishing the campaign as the third-highest scorer for Los Blancos behind Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior. Yet, he finds himself with his future up in the air at the Santiago Bernabeu, as he has entered the final year of his Real Madrid contract.
The Spanish giants were initially keen on extending Asensio’s stay by handing him a long-term contract. But negotiations have come to a grinding halt, with the Spanish international likely to leave Real Madrid as things stand. But the 26-year-old has no shortage of suitors, with Newcastle United, Arsenal, and Manchester United among the clubs eager to secure his services.
The Newcastle United rebuild project under Eddie Howe is continuing this summer, and the Magpies have already made a few influential signings. But they are yet to address the issues in the offensive unit, and Howe is keen on adding a right-sided attacker to his squad. Asensio has thus emerged as a viable target, with Newcastle United in contact with the Real Madrid forward.
Like Newcastle United, Arsenal and Manchester United are also in contact with Asensio, with the two Premier League heavyweights eyeing him over a possible summer move. While the Gunners are targeting Asensio as an alternative to Raphinha, the Red Devils want the Real Madrid forward as a long-sought solution to their right-wing woes.
Meanwhile, Arsenal and Manchester United also face stiff competition from AC Milan, with the Serie A champions reportedly the front-runners in the race to sign Asensio. Jorge Mendes is currently attempting to take the Spanish international out of Real Madrid this summer, meaning his four suitors will fancy their prospects of signing him.

It will be interesting to see if Newcastle, Arsenal or Manchester United will manage to attract the 26-year-old without UEFA Champions League football on offer. AC Milan should thus fancy their prospects of prising the Spaniard away from Real Madrid this summer.
