Serie A champions AC Milan have submitted an offer worth €25 million bid to sign 26-year-old Spanish forward Marco Asensio from Real Madrid.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, AC Milan and Real Madrid are only €5 million apart in their valuations of Marco Asensio. The Serie A champions have tabled a bid worth €25 million to sign the 26-year-old forward, with Los Blancos demanding €30 million to part ways with him.
Marco Asensio’s Real Madrid spell seems set to end after seven years in the Spanish capital. And that is quite ironic because the Spaniard had enjoyed arguably his best season thus far for Real Madrid, only to remain a rotation option for Carlo Ancelotti, even though only Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr. scored more often than him for Los Blancos.
The 26-year-old found the back of the net 12 times from 42 appearances across all competitions. But Asensio faces an uncertain future at the Santiago Bernabeu as he has entered the final year of his contract, with Real Madrid not offering him a new contract. Such a situation has captured the attention of AC Milan.
The Serie A giants are eager to bolster their offensive unit to become a more formidable team in the 2022/23 season when they hope to defend their league title successfully. And bolstering the right-wing berth is a necessity for AC Milan, with Alexis Saelemaekers and Junior Messias failing to perform consistently enough this past season.
Asensio has thus emerged as a viable target for the Rossoneri, with recent reports claiming they had established contacts with Real Madrid again to discuss the player’s future. And the talks seem to have convinced AC Milan to lodge an offer worth €25 million to sign the 26-year-old forward.
But the reigning Serie A champions will have to raise the bid ever so slightly to secure the services of the Spanish international, with Real Madrid demanding €30 million for him. Asensio, for his part, is keen on joining AC Milan, with the Italian club leading the race to sign him.
