Everton attacker Richarlison is reportedly keen on joining Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
According to Football Insider, Everton forward Richarlison is ready to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer and is waiting for the two clubs to agree on a fee. The Brazilian has been wanting to join a club that can provide him with Champions League football, and Spurs have thus emerged as a potential destination.
The Antonio Conte-managed club is preparing for a summer overhaul, with reinforcements being eyed for multiple positions. Tottenham are eager to add an attacker who can play all along the frontline, and Richarlison, with ample Premier League experience under his belt, fits the bill.
The 25-year-old joined Everton from Watford in 2018 and has since grown into a crucial player for the Merseyside club. He has made 152 appearances for them across all competitions, scoring 53 times and assisting 14 goals in them. Richarlison still has two years left on his contract but is keen to move on this summer, and talks of extension have not materialised.
Tottenham have reportedly held talks with Everton over a possible deal for Richarlison but are yet to agree on a transfer fee. The aforementioned report claims the Toffees want at least £50 million for the attacker, with Spurs said to be preparing a bid. It is, however, unclear whether the north London club will match Everton’s valuation of the player.
Meanwhile, the Toffees are already looking for Richarlison’s replacements and are targeting Watford’s Emmanuel Dennis.
With Richarlison ready to join Tottenham, and having informed his friends of the same, Spurs should be considered the favourites to secure his signing. However, there is interest from Manchester United as well, with the Red Devils looking to add reinforcements in the attacking department as well.
But Richarlison is not on top of Manchester United’s priority list, with other options such as Ajax’s Antony being considered currently, leaving Tottenham as the front-runners in his pursuit. United are also paying more attention to strengthening their midfield and defence.
As for Richarlison and his desire to join Tottenham, it will be interesting to see if a summer transfer from Everton to the north London club sees the light of day. The ball is in Spurs’ court to table an attractive offer for the Brazilian international.
