Barcelona will not throw in the towel in pursuit of Robert Lewandowski anytime soon as they prepare a new proposal to sign the Chelsea and PSG target.
According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona will likely submit another bid to sign Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window. The Polish international is also a target for Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Robert Lewandowski has been a talismanic figure for Bayern Munich since arriving from Borussia Dortmund nearly eight years ago. During his 12-year stint in the Bundesliga, the veteran striker has been unmatched in terms of output, and he has carved a legacy that will be spoken of in the same breath as the legendary Gerd Muller.
The 33-year-old has a brilliant record of 344 goals and 72 assists in 374 appearances for Bayern Munich. But the Bavarian giants are in a spot of bother over Lewandowski’s long-term future as he wants to embark on a new adventure in the summer transfer window. Such a situation has captured the attention of several European bigwigs like Barcelona, Chelsea and PSG.
The interest from Barcelona comes in the wake of the squad rebuild that Xavi Hernandez is undertaking at Camp Nou. With Martin Braithwaite facing an uncertain future, the Barcelona boss will have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the only natural striker at his disposal, thus necessitating the arrival of someone like Lewandowski.

The Polish international is adamant about joining Barcelona in the summer transfer window despite interest from some of the most high-profile clubs in Europe. Lewandowski has also iterated that his time at Bayern Munich is over. The player’s stance has thus come as a blow for Bayern Munich as well as Chelsea and PSG.
Chelsea will look to replace Romelu Lukaku this summer as he edges closer to returning to Inter Milan on loan. Lewandowski had thus emerged as a viable target for the Blues. On the other hand, PSG’s interest in the veteran forward stems from the rising uncertainties surrounding Mauro Icardi’s future. But Barcelona will likely beat both Chelsea and PSG, with the Blaugrana readying a new offer to present to Bayern Munich.

The Bundesliga champions have reportedly rejected two bids from Barcelona, and it will be interesting to see if the latest proposal does the trick. Bayern Munich’s stance over selling the Pole has remained unchanged in the last few weeks. But Barcelona will hope to turn the tide in their favour with their latest offer for Lewandowski.
