Tottenham Hotspur have been reportedly told to cough up around €75 million to sign Richarlison from Everton.
According to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs showing interest in Everton attacker Richarlison. But the Toffees want at least €70 million to €75 million for the 25-year-old, who now has two years left on his contract with them.
Richarlison joined Everton from Watford in the 2018 summer transfer window and has since grown into arguably the Toffees’ best player. He hit the ground running immediately, scoring 13 league goals each in his first season and second seasons with the Merseyside club.
The 25-year-old has continued in a similar vein and now totals 53 goals and 14 assists for Everton in 153 appearances. Richarlison has been as impactful as ever and played all along the front line for them.
In the 2021/22 season, he was one of the very few positives for Frank Lampard’s side as they scampered to avoid relegation on the penultimate matchday of the season. Richarlison’s performances have not gone unnoticed, and he is on the radar of a few clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham are eager to strengthen in all departments ahead of the new season, and as per Romano, Spurs have a ‘real interest’ in the Brazilian. The north London side are also prepared to offload Steven Bergwijn this summer and see Richarlison as a replacement.
His versatility could be a great asset for manager Antonio Conte with UEFA Champions League football on their agenda as well, although Tottenham might have to cough up around €75 million for the attacker.
“However, the club wants €70-75m as an opening price tag, so far it has not received offers at this level. Tottenham are not the only club interested, but Spurs have a real interest in Richarlison,” Romano wrote in his column for Caught Offside.
Spurs were reportedly in advanced talks to sign Richarlison with a €60 million fee being reported. But Everton now seem to have increased their demand.
Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea are also reportedly showing interest in the Everton star. They are reportedly ready to pay the Merseyside club’s asking price to secure the deal. Arsenal were also reportedly monitoring the Brazilian, but he is not ready to join the Gunners and would prefer a side playing in the Champions League, giving Tottenham the edge.
