Carlos Soler is reportedly on sale amid interest from Serie A giants Napoli, with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid also keen on signing him.
According to a report by Spanish publication AS, Carlos Soler will be on the market in the summer transfer window, with Valencia ready to cash in on their vice-captain. The Spanish midfielder is a target for Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, with Serie A giants Napoli and Juventus also pursuing him.
Carlos Soler joined Valencia as an eight-year-old before rapidly progressing through their academy. The 25-year-old made the grade in the first-team setup at the Mestalla nearly half a dozen years ago, and he has not looked back since then, establishing himself as a pivotal figure for Los Che.
Soler has also made his debut for the Spanish national side, and during his time with Valencia, he has turned out 222 times for Valencia thus far, chipping in with 35 goals and 31 assists. But Soler faces an uncertain future at the Mestalla, as his contract will run out next year. Such a situation has captured the attention of several European bigwigs, including Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
The interest from Barcelona comes in the wake of the rampant uncertainties surrounding the future of Frenkie de Jong. The Blaugrana could sell the Dutch international in the summer transfer window to balance their books and fund moves in the market. Soler is thus a viable target for Barcelona, with the player himself keen on joining them.
As for Atletico Madrid, the Colchoneros will enter the market for at least one central midfielder in the summer transfer window, as Hector Herrera will join Houston Dynamo. At the same time, Rodrigo De Paul and Saul Niguez’s futures at the Wanda Metropolitano are not set in stone. Soler has thus emerged as an option worth considering for Atletico Madrid.
But Barcelona and Atletico Madrid will have to stave off stiff competition from Serie A giants Napoli in the race to sign Soler. The Partenopei might have to replace Fabian Ruiz, and Soler would be a viable candidate to fill the void that could be left by the departure of his compatriot. According to AS, the Valencia vice-captain is also a target for Juventus.
With Valencia prepared to cash in on Soler, a transfer battle could be on the cards between La Liga heavyweights Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, and Serie A giants Napoli and Juventus. It will be interesting to see where the Spaniard will go if he leaves Valencia this summer.
