La Liga giants Real Madrid are reportedly ready to submit a €10 million offer to sign 17-year-old wonderkid Youssoufa Moukoko from Borussia Dortmund.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Youssoufa Moukoko’s next destination could be Real Madrid. The newly crowned La Liga champions are preparing a bid worth €10 million to sign the 17-year-old wonderkid from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window.
Youssoufa Moukoko is one of the most exciting young attackers in Europe, with the teenage prodigy playing an eye-catching brand of football in Borussia Dortmund’s youth setup over the years. The 17-year-old was so impressive during his days in BVB’s academy that the Bundesliga amended a rule to ensure he made an early debut for the Black and Yellows.
Moukoko is already a German under-21 international despite his tender years, but he has not made significant progress in the Borussia Dortmund first-team setup. The youngster has garnered only 482 minutes of game-times across 24 outings thus far, with most of his appearances coming off the bench. And the player’s frustrations have boiled over, with Real Madrid emerging as a potential destination for him.
The interest from Real Madrid stems from the rising uncertainties surrounding the futures of Luka Jovic and Mariano Diaz. The two strikers are surplus to requirements at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Jovic keen on returning to the Bundesliga. Meanwhile, Mariano is linked with several clubs across Europe, including former employer Lyon.
With Jovic and Mariano expected to leave Real Madrid to secure regular first-team football in the summer, signing a new striker has emerged as a priority for Los Blancos. Moukoko is thus a viable target for Real Madrid, as he can initially learn the ropes from Karim Benzema before becoming the Merengues’ first-choice striker in a few years.
The Spanish giants are now ready to launch the offensive for Moukoko, with the report claiming they have prepared a bid worth €10 million to secure his services. The valuation makes sense, considering Moukoko’s contract with Borussia Dortmund runs out next year.
The Bundesliga heavyweights might have to make peace with the idea of cashing in on the 17-year-old wonderkid despite selling Erling Haaland to Manchester City unless they are ready to risk losing him for free next year. But it is unclear if Real Madrid’s €10 million bid will do the trick, meaning an intriguing summer transfer window beckons Moukoko.
