Real Madrid ace Reinier Jesus on Valencia, Real Betis radar

Real Madrid loanee Reinier Jesus has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for fellow La Liga clubs Valencia and Real Betis ahead of the summer.

According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid youngster Reinier Jesus could be on the move in the upcoming transfer window amid interest from La Liga clubs Valencia and Real Betis.

Reinier Jesus was signed by Real Madrid from Brazilian outfit Flamengo in January 2020. He made three appearances for the club’s Castilla outfit in the second half of the 2019/20 campaign. The youngster left Madrid to join Borussia Dortmund on a two-year loan spell in the summer of 2020.

However, it has not worked out as planned for Reinier in Germany, as he has hardly been a regular in the side at Signal Iduna Park. In almost two years at the club, the 20-year-old attacking midfielder has featured just 36 times in all competitions. Of his 17 appearances in the 2021/22 season, only two have been from the start, indicating how sparingly he has been used in Dortmund.

With the loan spell coming to an end next month, Reinier will be back at Real Madrid. Given the competition for places already at the Santiago Bernabeu, Los Blancos will have a decision to make regarding the future of the 20-year-old Brazilian prodigy. There is a possibility that they loan him out again or decide to offload him permanently.

And, there seems to be no shortage of interest in Reinier, with La Liga clubs Valencia and Real Betis open to signing him. The report does not clarify whether the Spanish outfits want the Real Madrid starlet on loan or in a permanent deal. But they are interested in the former Flamengo prodigy should he be made available in the summer transfer window.

Reinier, for his part, wants to stay at Real Madrid by making an impression on manager Carlo Ancelotti in the pre-season. A versatile attacking midfielder who can play as a No. 10 or on either flank, Reinier can add depth to the Real Madrid roster. But his future will likely be dictated by the other transfer business conducted by the club.

With Gareth Bale set to depart and Eden Hazard likely to be sold as well, Los Blancos could do with more options in the attacking unit. Furthermore, Marco Asensio’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu is also far from certain. And with Real Madrid also considering the sale of another loanee in Takefusa Kubo, there may be a part for Reinier in the squad.
