Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly soon renew negotiations with Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele over a possible Bosman move.
According to a report by Goal France, signing Ousmane Dembele remains firmly on Paris Saint-Germain’s agenda over a Bosman move in the summer transfer window. PSG will revive negotiations with the Barcelona forward to discuss the terms of a free transfer in the coming days.
Ousmane Dembele has been a divisive figure since joining Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund in August 2017. While the 24-year-old has always shown promising signs on the pitch, his attitude and fitness woes have left a lot to be desired. The former had been prevalent earlier this year, as Barcelona announced that talks over a contract renewal had broken down.
Barcelona fans subsequently greeted Dembele with jeers, but the Frenchman has won them over with top-class performances in the last two months. The 2018 FIFA World Cup has enjoyed a solid 2021/22 campaign, particularly in La Liga, with one goal and 11 assists in 14 appearances. But with the player’s contract expiring in a few months, his prospective suitors, including PSG, are licking their lips.
Dembele was heavily linked with PSG over a late move in the January transfer window, but a move did not materialise. But recent reports have claimed that Les Parisiens are the front-runners to sign the Barcelona forward in a Bosman move in the summer.
Dembele could be a long-term replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who will likely join Real Madrid in a Bosman move in the summer transfer window. While the Barcelona forward might not replace the goals of his compatriot, he’ll bolster PSG’s creative options, which will be a big boost, keeping the ongoing campaign as the context.
Widespread reports have claimed that Dembele already has a principle agreement to join PSG, who will revive negotiations to discuss the terms of his contract imminently. But Barcelona will not throw in the towel yet, and they will soon re-initiate contract talks with the 24-year-old.

But financial terms could be a major stumbling block, as Barcelona will only offer an €8 million-a-year contract to Dembele, who wants a higher pay package. Such a development keeps PSG in contention to snap up the French international. It will be interesting to see how Dembele’s future shapes up as we approach the summer transfer window.
