Real Madrid could sell Alvaro Odriozola in the summer after wrapping up the signing of Vinicius Tobias and could demand around €18-20 million for the Spaniard.
According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid are pondering selling Alvaro Odriozola in the summer transfer window after being close to completing the signing of Vinicius Tobias.
The Brazilian right-back is expected to finalise a move to Real Madrid from Shakhtar Donetsk imminently, signing on a two-year loan deal with an option to make the transfer permanent. While he will initially link up with the club’s Castilla outfit, Tobias could become a part of Carlo Ancelotti’s setup in due time.
It has now led to Real Madrid considering selling Alvaro Odriozola, who is currently out on loan at Fiorentina. The 26-year-old signed for Los Blancos in 2018 from fellow La Liga club Real Sociedad. Arriving with immense promise, the Spaniard never got going at the Santiago Bernabeu and was eventually loaned out to Bayern Munich in January 2020.
Back at Real Madrid in the summer later that year, Odriozola rarely featured last season under Zinedine Zidane and was sent out on loan to Fiorentina last year. The right-back has impressed during his time in Italy so far, racking up one goal and one assist apiece from 22 Serie A outings.
It had led to the possibility of Odriozola making a comeback at Real Madrid next season. At the same time, there have been murmurs of interest from other clubs in the Spaniard, with Fiorentina themselves considering making his switch permanent.
With Tobias set to arrive and Real Madrid also being able to call upon Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez in the right-back slot, they are now mulling over offloading Odriozola permanently come summer. And should they decide to do so, Los Blancos will demand around €18-20 million for the 26-year-old, who is contracted with the club until 2024.
A decision is yet to be made, though, and it is claimed that Carlo Ancelotti will assess both Odriozola and Tobias in the pre-season before the new campaign before taking a call. But the possibility of raking in close to €20 million for a player who has never got going at the Santiago Bernabeu would certainly be appealing for Real Madrid.
