Premier League clubs Leeds United and Crystal Palace are both interested in a move for on-loan Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.
According to TEAMtalk, Morgan Gibbs-White, who is on loan at Championship side Sheffield United from Wolverhampton Wanderers this season, has caught the eye of both Leeds and Crystal Palace. The two English top-flight sides and a host of other clubs are interested in the 22-year-old English midfielder and could move for him should Wolves decide to sell him in the upcoming transfer window.
Gibbs-White is a Wolves academy product and was promoted to the first team as a 16-year-old in January 2017. He made seven Championship appearances for the club that season and followed it up with 13 the next term. A majority of these appearances, however, came from the bench.
With Wolves gaining promotion to the Premier League from the 2018/19 season, Gibbs-White got his first opportunity to shine at the top. Though he played 26 matches for them, providing an assist in the process, he still largely spent his time on the sidelines. With Wolves preferring their high-profile signings, the 22-year-old’s game time took a hit.
He was then sent on a six-month-long loan to Swansea City in January 2021 after a sedate first half of the season with his parent club. Sheffield United, who signed him on a year-long loan in August 2021, is where he has come into his own.

Largely used as an attacking midfielder at the Championship club, Gibbs-White has thrived. In 27 appearances across competitions, he has scored nine and assisted seven goals, playing an integral role in Sheffield United’s push for a playoff-spot finish. They are currently fifth in the Championship table.
The TEAMtalk report claims that Gibbs-White is all set for a return to the Premier League irrespective of what the future holds for the Blades. Fulham, who currently sit atop the Championship table, have also shown interest in the central midfielder.
As for Crystal Palace, the Eagles could have to enter the market for a central midfielder, as Conor Gallagher will return to Chelsea after his loan spell, prompting them to scour the market for several options, including Marc Casado. Meanwhile, Leeds United are sweating over Kalvin Phillips’s long-term future.
With the English international linked with a bevy of clubs from the Premier League and abroad, Leeds will need to keep their options open. To that end, Gibbs-White is a viable target, especially with Mateusz Klich enduring a sharp decline in performance levels this season.
As far as Premier League clubs are concerned, Southampton are also interested in the 22-year-old. Wolves, too, could decide to incorporate Gibbs-White into their first team from the next season.
