Juventus are exploring financially viable opportunities to sign a deputy for Dusan Vlahovic, with Alexandre Lacazette emerging as a reasonable target in the summer.
According to Calciomercato, Juventus are interested in a summer move for Alexandre Lacazette, with the Frenchman looking increasingly likely to leave Arsenal on a free transfer. There are still chances of the striker staying put at the Emirates, although a move to Turin may be appealing.
Alexandre Lacazette’s future at Arsenal is becoming a highly-discussed subject even as the striker continues to meet Mikel Arteta’s expectations. Arsenal have so far delayed talks over a new deal until the summer and while Arteta hasn’t explicitly ruled out the possibility of the striker signing a new deal, the likelihood of a Bosman move is increasing with each passing day.
Lacazette registered two assists during Arsenal’s win over Watford, following which Arteta again remained coy on his contractual situation. Irrespective of what transpires with the Frenchman’s immediate future, the Gunners are likely to make big moves for a striker or two in the summer window.
With Lacazette’s quality evident, there are plenty of clubs vying for his signature. His potential availability on a free transfer makes a prospective move all the more appealing. Former club Lyon have confirmed their intention to bring the forward back to the team if they can afford his wages.
Juventus have now entered the race for the striker, with the Turin giants eyeing the Frenchman as a possible deputy for Dusan Vlahovic. Ironically, both players could have been playing at Arsenal if the Serbian striker had accepted an offer from the north London side in January.
However, Juventus may have a shortage of frontmen in the summer, with Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata looking likely to depart. They will need quality reinforcements if both of them leave, and Lacazette could be the perfect candidate to come in and provide cover or competition for Vlahovic.
Moreover, his availability on a Bosman move makes Lacazette an even more enticing option for Juventus. The Serie A giants have faced financial problems lately and remain on the hunt for bargain moves. They recently signed Denis Zakaria in a cut-price move from Borussia Monchengladbach, and there could be similar moves made in the summer after spending heavily on Vlahovic in January.
