Wesley Fofana admits to Real Madrid dream

Wesley Fofana has revealed that Real Madrid are the club of his dreams and that he wishes to play for the club sometime in the future.

In an interview on YouTube, as relayed by Football Espana, Wesley Fofana has spoken up about the prospect of joining Real Madrid. The 20-year-old French defender has claimed that it is his dream to join Real Madrid and that he hopes he can play for the club in the future.

Wesley Fofana is currently a part of the Leicester City setup, having joined the Premier League club last summer from Saint-Etienne. A prodigious defender who was hailed as a promising prospect during his days in France, the youngster has quickly become an asset for the Foxes.

One of the better performers in a topsy turvy 2020/21 campaign for Leicester, Fofana took no time to settle down at the King Power Stadium, striking a solid partnership with Caglar Soyuncu and Jonny Evans. His fine performances have even piqued the interest of some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

However, a big move in the summer transfer window could not come to fruition, as Fofana sustained a long-term injury during a pre-season friendly against Villarreal. Now on the sidelines, the 20-year-old is on the long road to recovery.

The French defender, though, has made a big revelation as to the identity of his dream club. And in an interview on YouTube, Fofana has claimed that Real Madrid are the club of his dreams and that he hopes to join them one day.

The Leicester City centre-back said, “Rumours of Real Madrid? It’s an honour, Real Madrid is the club of my dreams. It’s the biggest club in the world and my dream is to play there.”

Real Madrid were, in fact, heavily linked with Fofana for several weeks before his untimely injury left him on the sidelines. So the prospect of a summer move could never materialise and any deal for the 20-year-old is now only likely to be hashed out next summer at the earliest. Till then, Fofana will hope to make a complete recovery before making his return for Leicester.
