Ander Herrera has become a crowd favourite since joining Manchester United from La Liga club Athletic Bilbao. The Spaniard has been on the receiving end of much affection and support from the Manchester United faithful, who seemed to believe in the player’s talent even though he did not receive the backing of former manager Louis Van Gaal.

However, the 27-year-old seems to have now established himself in Jose Mourinho’s first-team plans with the Portuguese opting to partner Paul Pogba with the tenacious midfielder in a new role that Herrera has taken to seamlessly. Herrera has represented Spain at all the youth levels, but is yet to earn his first senior cap. The former Athletic midfielder now has the chance to make his senior debut in Spain’s upcoming FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifiers.
Herrera was congratulated by Manchester United fans from all around the world on Twitter after it was confirmed that he had been called up to the Spain squad by Julen Lopetegui.
Herrera is simply too underrated. So happy he’s got a Spain call. Deserves it.

Jose Mourinho would have similar sentiments as the Spaniard seems to be the perfect partner to the explosive Paul Pogba in the midfield pivot. The Portuguese manager is likely to persist with this combination as United face a decisive October schedule which could make or break their season.
