Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has been handed a one-match touchline ban for being sent off in his side’s 0-0 draw against Burnley over the weekend. Referee Mark Clattenburg sent the Portuguese manager to the stands for an incident that took place ‘in or around the tunnel area during half-time’, BBC can report.
The FA also fined him a nominal fee of £8,000 and will cause him to miss the game against Swansea. Mourinho has also been charged with a mammoth £50,000 bill for the comments he made about referee Anthony Taylor prior to United’s clash against Liverpool.
This decision of the FA saw fans began to rant against the governing body and standing in favour of Mourinho:
Why does mourinho get fined and touchline ban but nothing for Marc clattenburg so they can get away with it @SkySportsNewsHQ joke unfair

£50,000 fine for Mourinho. This is just absurd. Victimization at its peak.

So – 1 match touchline ban & fine. That will bring Mourinho into line! Pitiful & cowardly FA. Name the committee men! Name names! #Mourinho

Suarez fined £40,000 for racism and Mourinho fined £50,000 for saying a referee would struggle to have a good refereeing performance

I am 100% still behind Mourinho. The media and the FA are seemingly against him. He needs time to work his magic, UTD is a very big project.

José Mourinho invoking his inner Sir Alex with that one game touch line ban.

While there were some who did not have a benign opinion about the incident:
That’s up to a total of £198,000 in recent FA fines for Mourinho. Fining an incredibly wealthy man isn’t really going to work, is it?

Can’t help but think Jose Mourinho has got off very, very lightly. Serial offender. One game touchline ban and total of £58,000 in charges.

Mourinho defines flop

The speed at which Jose Mourinho is becoming “the infamous one” is starting to bother me. https://t.co/jRLwuk6IJs

Jose Mourinho charged by the FA then, unfortunately not by attaching jump-leads to his bollocks.

Mourinho’s got to stop making a fool out of him self
