Eduardo Camavinga has revealed why he snubbed suitors, including Manchester United, for Real Madrid, as he wanted to fulfill his childhood dream.
During his presentation as a new Real Madrid player, as quoted by Manchester Evening News, Eduardo Camavinga has spoken up about his decision to join Real Madrid. He has also seemingly suggested that other suitors, one of which were Manchester United, became a non-factor for him, as he wanted to fulfill his childhood dream of playing for Los Blancos.
Eduardo Camavinga had been one of the most highly sought-after players in Europe for quite some time till the end of the summer transfer window arrived. Even during the two-month window, the 18-year-old midfielder was linked with a myriad of clubs before he ended up joining Real Madrid on deadline day.
Indeed, the French international was linked with Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain right until the final days of the summer transfer window before he chose to join Real Madrid over others.
Camavinga has now opened up about his reasoning to join the La Liga heavyweights during his presentation, claiming money was not a factor as he wanted to fulfill a dream he had since he was little. He also added that when Real Madrid made their move, all the other suitors, like Manchester United, became a non-factor.
Camavinga said, “Honestly, the first factor is not money, it is the pleasure of fulfilling a dream I had since I was little. When I found out that I could sign for Madrid, I didn’t think about it. The first factor for me was the pleasure of fulfilling the dream of playing for Real Madrid, playing with footballers who are going to teach me a lot.”
With his dream move now complete, it remains to be seen if Camavinga can take the next step in his career by becoming one of the best midfielders in the world. He has two modern day greats in Luka Modric and Toni Kroos to learn from in the foreseeable future, so he should definitely be in good company.

As for Manchester United, they have now turned their attention towards Declan Rice, who is reportedly their primary target to bolster the midfield unit. What now remains to be seen is if Rice ends up being a solution in the middle of the park, although that move will only likely be completed next summer.
