Barcelona could launch an offensive for Bartlomiej Dragowski in the summer transfer window, with the 24-year-old goalkeeper reportedly on their radar.
According to a report by Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Bartlomiej Dragowski has popped up on the radar of Barcelona over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The Catalan giants are closely monitoring the goalkeeping market amid the uncertainties surrounding the future of Neto, with the 24-year-old one of the options under consideration.
Bartlomiej Dragowski joined Fiorentina from Empoli in June 2019 and has since struggled to nail down a spot as a regular for the Serie A outfit. The Polish international has largely played second fiddle to Italian goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano.
The 24-year-old has garnered only 422 minutes of game time across six outings in all competitions this season, keeping two clean sheets in the process. But despite featuring sparingly for Fiorentina in the last two and a half years, the Pole seems to have made enough of an impression on prospective suitors, with Barcelona keen on signing him.
The interest from Barcelona stems from the uncertainty surrounding the future of Neto. The Brazilian goalkeeper is unsettled at Camp Nou after failing to establish a foothold in the first-team setup following his arrival from Valencia two and a half years ago.
Neto is keen on exiting Barcelona in the summer transfer window to seek regular game-time and become a first-choice goalkeeper again. The veteran shot-stopper’s departure will leave Xavi Hernandez with Marc-Andre ter Stegen as the only recognised goalkeeper at his disposal, unless Inaki Pena is promoted to the primary backup role.
The report claims that Pena could become the second-choice goalkeeper for Barcelona next season. But Barcelona might need to invest in another stopper to replace Neto if Pena is sent out on loan again after returning from his current stint with Galatasaray.
To that end, the Catalan giants have drawn up a five-man shortlist to pursue in the summer transfer window, with Dragowski one of the options on their radar. Apart from the 24-year-old, Alban Lafont, Yassine Bounou, Maarten Vandevoordt and Illan Meslier are also on Barcelona’s radar. As for Dragowski, a move to Barcelona could be attractive, considering his situation at Fiorentina is unlikely to change.
