Adrien Rabiot and Federico Bernardeschi are two of the Juventus stars being tracked by Premier League club Leicester City.
According to Calciomercato.it, Leicester City are keeping tabs on a couple of players from Juventus. Their scouts were in attendance in the Bianconeri’s recent win over Genoa, primarily to keep an eye on midfielder Adrien Rabiot and attacker Federico Bernardeschi.
The latter’s expiring contract, in particular, excites the Foxes, who are currently hoping to shore up their options in the upcoming January transfer window. It appears they are also aware of Rabiot’s situation in Turin and believe they can snap up both these individuals in a cut-price deal next month.
Among the two, Rabiot has certainly been the more ever-present figure in the Juventus squad this season, featuring in 12 league matches so far. But the Frenchman has had struggles settling into Italian football and has failed to perform consistently. As a result, he has been linked with a move elsewhere, with earlier reports suggesting that Juventus are even willing to part ways with the midfielder for just €15 million.
Bernardeschi, meanwhile, has never really got going since his move from Fiorentina in 2017. In fact, the Italian is yet to score five or more goals in a single league campaign in any of his past four seasons at the club, which is not acceptable even for a winger.
The 27-year-old has not scored a single goal in any of his 12 league matches this term, while his current contract in Turin expires at the end of the season.
Bernardeschi’s struggles at Juve, though, have not deterred Leicester City, who are likely considering the Italian international as additional cover for Marc Albrighton on the right flank. The fact that he is available for a cut-price makes him a no-risk investment for Rodgers, who has had a relatively underwhelming start to the league campaign so far.
While the Italian might be a gettable target, Leicester City may have difficulties getting their hands on Rabiot. The Frenchman is a target for multiple clubs across England, including Chelsea, while recent reports suggest Juventus are not too keen on selling the ex-PSG starlet just yet.
Rabiot and Bernardeschi might not be the only Juventus players likely to leave the club in January either. Leicester City’s league rivals Tottenham Hotspur are in the market for Weston McKennie while Aaron Ramsey has been linked with a return to England next month amid interest from Leeds United and Newcastle United.
