Real Madrid are reportedly preparing to make their move for 19-year-old Fulham whizkid Fabio Carvalho on a free transfer next summer.
According to a report by reputed Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Real Madrid are ready to make their move for Fabio Carvalho over a Bosman move in next summer’s transfer window. The 19-year-old Fulham whizkid would be open to joining the Spanish giants on a free transfer.
Fabio Carvalho is widely regarded as one of the best young players plying their trade in England. A part of Fulham since 2014, the teenage prodigy progressed through the ranks at the London club before making his first-team debut last season. However, at the onset of the ongoing campaign, he has quickly established himself as a key player for the Cottagers.
In seven appearances in the Championship, the 19-year-old has a tally of three goals and an assist to show for his efforts. However, Fulham are in a precarious position over the player’s long-term future, which has alerted many top clubs across Europe. One of his prospective suitors are Real Madrid.
Real Madrid have been renowned for scouring worldwide, searching for the most promising young players in the game. Such an outlook helps them facilitate smooth transitioning from one generation to another, with president Florentino Perez, a major advocate of the thinking process.

As a result, Real Madrid also have players in the squad to take over from ageing stalwarts, with the likes of Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga and Vinicius Jr. among the youngsters who are already a key part of the first-team setup. To that end, Carvalho has emerged as a target to bolster the attacking unit and be a long-term solution in the final third.
The interest in the 19-year-old whizkid makes sense considering Gareth Bale is likely to depart the Santiago Bernabeu as a free agent next summer while Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio have been struggling to make an impression lately. So, even though Kylian Mbappe is the priority, there is a feeling that signing another attacker would benefit Real Madrid, who are now reading their move for Carvalho.
The Merengues have recently been handed a major boost in his pursuit, as reports have claimed that the youngster is ready to run down his deal with Fulham to embark on a new adventure. And as per Ekrem Konur, Carvalho would be open to joining Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer. So, it remains to be seen if a move sees the light of the day if Real Madrid end up making their move for him.
