Real Madrid midfielder Isco has reportedly offered himself to AC Milan, but the Serie A giants instead have their sights set on Romain Faivre.
According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, AC Milan have been offered the chance to sign Isco in the January transfer window. However, the Serie A giants have no interest in the Real Madrid midfielder and are instead focusing their attention on Romain Faivre.
Isco joined Real Madrid from Malaga in the summer of 2013 and has since endured a hit-and-miss stint at the Santiago Bernabeu. While the Spaniard has shown flashes of brilliance, he has been unable to usurp any of Casemiro, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos to become a first-choice option.
To date, the 29-year-old has turned out 342 times for Real Madrid, raking in 52 goals and 56 assists in the process. However, his spell with Real Madrid appears to be drawing to a close, seeing as he has entered the final year of his contract with the Spanish giants, with a new deal unlikely to be offered. As a result, he is now looking for his next destination and has offered his services to AC Milan to that end.
The Serie A giants have already signed one attacking midfielder from Real Madrid, with Brahim Diaz going from strength to strength since initially arriving on loan at San Siro last year. However, as per recent reports, AC Milan appear to remain on the hunt for another playmaker.
Such a stance is understandable, considering there is uncertainty over whether the Rossoneri will sign Diaz permanently from Real Madrid. With that in mind, it would make sense for AC Milan to enter the market for an attacking midfielder, making Isco a viable target.
However, the Serie A giants have no interest in signing the Real Madrid outcast, as they believe he is on the wane. Instead, Milan have their focus firmly on snapping up Romain Faivre, with the Brest ace emerging as a priority target for them.
So, it looks like Isco will need to turn his attention elsewhere in search of his next adventure. Going by widespread reports, there does not seem to be a shortage of prospective suitors in pursuit of the 29-year-old, with Lyon, Everton and Leicester City among the clubs hot on his trails. With that in mind, it remains to be seen where Isco will head off to next, with his Real Madrid spell approaching its end.
