Juventus are reportedly interested in Dani Ceballos and are prepared to offer Adrien Rabiot in a swap deal to sign the out-of-favour Real Madrid midfielder.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Dani Ceballos is the subject of interest from Juventus over a move in the January transfer window. In fact, the Serie A heavyweights are ready to offer a swap deal to Real Madrid to land the out-of-favour midfielder, with Adrien Rabiot set to be on offer.
Dani Ceballos joined Real Madrid from Real Betis in the summer of 2017, arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu amid a lot of hype surrounding his talent. However, the 25-year-old was never really able to win over Zinedine Zidane, and after a couple of frustrating campaigns wherein he only managed 56 appearances, he was sent out on loan to Arsenal in the summer of 2019.
In fact, Ceballos spent the last two seasons at Arsenal, enduring a hit and miss stint with the north Londoners. The Spaniard, though, had no intention to return to the Emirates this past summer and was determined to win his place back in the Real Madrid midfield setup.
That has, unfortunately, proven to be a tough task so far, as Ceballos returned from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with an ankle injury that has rendered him unavailable in the first couple of months of the season. However, if reports are to be believed, chances are he is unlikely to get regular game-time and could be on his way out of Real Madrid in January.
Former club Real Betis have been heavily linked with the 25-year-old, with Real Madrid reportedly read to loan him out to the Verdiblancos as well. And now, a new suitor has emerged in pursuit of Ceballos, with Juventus keen on signing him.
Juventus have been rumoured to be in the market for a midfielder for a second successive transfer window, despite signing Manuel Locatelli in the summer. Indeed, the Bianconeri have been linked with Donny van de Beek, Paul Pogba and Bernardo Silva, among others amid uncertainty surrounding the futures of Aaron Ramsey, Adrien Rabiot and Weston McKennie.
In fact, Rabiot could be a factor in Juventus’s pursuit of Ceballos, with the Italian giants ready to offer the French international in a swap deal to sign the out-of-favour Real Madrid midfielder. The report, though, does not mention whether Real Madrid would be open to such a deal.
As far as Rabiot’s future in Turin is concerned, he will be offloaded any which way, and it looks like his time with Juventus is coming to an end. What now remains to be seen is if Real Madrid are ready to enter the operation of signing the Frenchman as part of a swap deal, which would see Ceballos make his way to Juventus.
