Manchester United and Arsenal are reportedly involved in a three-way chase with Sevilla in the race to sign 21-year-old French utility man Boubacar Kamara.
According to an exclusive report from Fichajes, Boubacar Kamara has become the hottest prospect in the market as multiple clubs in Europe are being put on red alert over his contract situation. The 21-year-old French utility man’s current deal at Marseille expires at the end of the season and there is no indication of a potential renewal.
Linked with a deadline day transfer to Wolves, Kamara was blocked out of a late move by Marseille. But his current situation has now put bigger clubs on alert including Manchester United, Sevilla and Arsenal.
Kamara is widely regarded as one of France’s most gifted midfield talents, having already notched up 125 competitive appearances for Marseille, at the age of just 21. There is now a growing belief that the French utility man will be available for free next summer, or even on a pre-contract deal or at least a cut-price move in January, knowing Marseille will be keen on avoiding losing him for free.
It bodes well for Arsenal, who have faced major backlash due to their market strategy. Although the Gunners have not shied away from investing a fortune in the transfer market, the lack of a proper midfield setup, among many other issues, has left them languishing at the bottom of the Premier League table during the international break.
Manchester United’s woes in the midfield department, meanwhile, have already been well-documented. Despite an exciting transfer window that saw them snap up Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, there is a growing belief that the lack of a quality holding midfielder could derail the club’s title charge this campaign.
The addition of Kamara, in that regard, could serve as a long-term fix. The Frenchman, who is known for his work ethic and ability to read the game, could prove to be an ideal replacement for the ageing Nemanja Matic while providing an alternative to Fred and Scott McTominay.

However, with Sevilla also interested, both Manchester United and Arsenal must move swiftly if they are to get their hands on the Marseille youngster anytime soon. He is not their only option either, though, with the clubs also being linked with a January swoop for Brighton & Hove Albion’s Yves Bissouma.
