Crystal Palace have approached Manchester United for Amad Diallo, who is set for a loan exit this summer.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has offered an update on the future of Amad Diallo. It appears the Manchester United youngster is set for a loan move away from Old Trafford this summer. This recent development has put multiple clubs on red alert including league rivals Crystal Palace.
The Eagles and FC Basel have already approached Manchester United exploring the prospect of a loan deal. They are set to face stiff competition from unnamed Bundesliga clubs while other Premier League clubs are also interested in securing the services of the youngster this summer.
Formerly of Atalanta, Diallo had agreed to join Manchester United last summer, but his move was officially completed in January 2021. The winger made a solid impression upon his arrival at Old Trafford, registering a goal and an assist in eight competitive outings while netting three in four in the Premier League 2.
Unfortunately, Diallo’s prospects at Manchester United received a major blow when the club announced the capture of Jadon Sancho. The Borussia Dortmund superstar is expected to fill the void in the right-wing slot, competing with Daniel James for a place in the starting eleven.
Moreover, the Red Devils have also opted to keep hold of Anthony Martial despite speculations linking him away from Manchester throughout the course of the summer. It has led to Amad Diallo falling down the pecking order, with not much scope for a potential breakthrough in the starting eleven this season.
It has essentially opened up an opportunity for Crystal Palace to make an interesting swoop for the former Atalanta whizkid. It is no secret that the newly Patrick Vieira is determined to shore up his options, especially in the wide attacking department this summer.
The Eagles have already been linked with a move for Yann Karamoh of Parma this summer. But in Diallo, Vieira may find himself a talented winger who is already quite familiar with English football.
Furthermore, the 19-year-old has also won three caps for his country, Ivory Coast scoring one goal. His speed, tenacity should make him an ideal fit in the Crystal Palace setup, as the winger could create a solid attacking combination at Selhurst Park, alongside the likes of Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze and his compatriot and former Manchester United star, Wilfried Zaha.
